Hey with curly hair yu can totally rock an emo style!
My mom is a hairdresser, and I know for a fact that getting thick sidewept bangs is really cool on a person with curly hair!
You could also get funky colors by dyeing the bangs a bold color along with the tips of the rest of your hair. Also maybe short layers would look good to.
The trick when dying a color is to not bleach it out all the way before applying the new color. It works better that way.

I actully have great hair, it is short and I can spike it, very flat and died mostly white, I am emo. But I don’t really like labels.
For curly hair you can get some side bangs and dye thow’s complety white . The rest black. You can try to put up the hair in the back and spike it out of the pony tail, and dye the spikeys some color like orange and red. Then cut up the top layier of your hair into shortier pecies that way you can move it diffrent areas. The only part of your hair you would have to strighting is the spiks and the bangs. You will also need gel and hair spray. A really good gel for you would probely be “sticky rice”….If you want to do that with your hair. Have a good day! Bye.

also you can dye your hair in dark coulor and make a white stripes on them if you like it

I have curly hair too, but I’m afrai I’m not as lucky as you to have nice hair like Shakira’s. However, I find putting it in a pony tail, then a sort of spinked out messy bun helps. If your hair is long like mine, you can put it in half of a bun with the top part hanging over the bun part. It looks great with bright highlights and a thick, sideswept bang. I straighten random parts of my hair to defy the normalcy of straightening all of it or leaving all of it curly. In the end, it always owns.

Hey !!!!I’m Loulou Waterloo, an EMO from NYC and My hair sounds exactly like yours : Light brown, thick, long, and kind of like Shakira’s. What I did is cut my hair in short layers “dégradé” and leave the rest longin a kind of V shape at the back. I had really thick (right) side bangs died in black. C what i did was dye the long hair and my bangs black and straighten them, you can leave the rest curly and kind of play with the colours…Pink is gd if u want…Well, hope it works out for u !!! Gd luck !!!

Hey, I have very curly hair, and what i basically did was give myself sidebangs, and from there, let the underneath grow out and let it curl naturally, as for the top of your head layer it a bit and volumize it, it works best when parted on the side : ) I do have very long hair and bleach it tho. Some tips I have learned for it to curl nice is: Never use moose, it dries out your hair, use a coditioning milk product when wet, and a gellish curl enhanser when drying. Also keep your hair up in a towel for as long as you can, it will curl better. Hope this helps : )
I have curly brown hair in really tight curls just past my shoulders. I can’t do this until I get to college, but since I have medium brown skin, I was going to dye my hair dark cherry red. I wear it in layers now, so that if I clip the front back with a little poof in the center with a bow and tie it half in a short ponytail, it gives the impression of being spiked in the back. Plus, I keep my curls because blowdrying my hair is a death sentence, as well as straightening it. So you might want to try layers in a half up- half down style. Maybe put some black lowlights underneath on the longest layers. I hope my suggestion helped!
i have super curly hair and its dirtyblonde with jet black underneath what i do is i cut my bangs short and since my hair is a good length the curls are weighed down but i stll straiten it under and a few bits on top so it looks wavvy with a few ringlet curls here and there ^^

and the only solution i had for the type of my hair is straightening it with a straightening iron thing i always straighten it and that doesn’t take along time if u had some1 helping you doing it ..
well straightening it is the only thing u can and should do if u was emo but if not there r a lot a lot of styles for non-emo gurls that r havin curly hair and they r pretty cute .. i hope i helped

ahhhh my hair is so curly and short but i realized if you put in garne frutise <–sp? gel like lots of it den crunch it n let it dry with a bandana on for 10 min it looks pretty good.
hey, im not emo, more scene then anything, and my hair is SUPER curly, i got the emo/scene haircut and i have a lot of bangs, so i like to leave it curly, then straighten my bangs, and take a waxy gel and kind of lift up on my bangs, it gives it a nice edgy look.
then i take little sections of my hair and take mascara and make like a coon tail look on the section, do that…about ehh 2-5 sections of hair and the final result looks amazing just make an up and down motion across the piece you want, and your done

heyy i have curly hair that is brown but is dark enough to look black and whitish skin. I know your problem~! i just leave the back long and curly, i use a relaxer (works ALOT) and put forehead bangs with the sides long and straight. i use a ironer and it looks awesome! the only hair dye i can use is blonde, so i just skip that step.

I have rele curly hair too! I usually straighten it tho and make it poof like a scene kid has their hair. The first thing you need to do if go to a hairdresser and get it thinned out then get it cut all choppy and layered.And straighten it often!But also there is some styles that are curly and emo. you can pull you hair into a bun and leave the bangs down (make sure to straighten them tho)
Or use a bunch of gels to make ur hair wavy and poof it up like a scene kid or spike it up. also you can use gels and serums to make ur hair kinky and straighten the bangs.Hope this helped!

Hey! Im an emo puerto rican *weird mix* so I have dark brown BIG and VERY LOOOONG *18 inches* curly hair. I have brownish- blonde streaks in my hair, and my tips are red. (almost any color will NOT take in my hair, so im limited.. NOT EVEN BLEACHED DYE!)I cut a bang which I dont wear all the time but when i do wear it I flatten it and in the sun you can see red streaks i put in it, which looks pretty cool. Sum times i leave my hair out or i just poof it up and put it in a side poy-tail which looks punk-rockish. And I have thick hair so I went to this beauty supply store and got one of those clasps that make ur hair into a mohawk. and i haven’t tried it yet but spray starch for your *clothes* makes your hair incredibly stiff *enuf to make it chip off* and mold one of those scary looking mohawks that stick out like 18 inch horns on top of your head! Imma little eccentric so not alot of ppl would be wiling to do it, but it sounds pretty awsome.
I am also somewhat emo and I also got curly hair(about three inches above the waist)…what I always do is have my hair combed on one side(left) and leave the rest as is, if you want, dye it with some alluring and eye catching colors(it also looks good w/ weird combinations), sometimes I tie it with a black lace…

My hair is curly to (dark brown(little natural red) a little below my shoulders and SUPER CURLY).
About a year ago, I cut my own bangs, side-swept and everything. Like most people, my school DOES NOT allow any “unnatural” colors in anyone’s hair. Sooo, it is hard to have emo hair in my case. If your school (or parents) is/are like that, you can sneak around the rules a bit by getting some natural unnatural hair colors. Like get some ‘natural red’ put in it or dye it REALLY dark brown.

You can straighten your hair fairly often, that helps. If you straighten it, just let it go or put it in a ponytail and pull it over your shoulder.

hey. half emo. just have to go to hot topic to get new clothes. im a puerto rican emo and let me say, bang are great help. if u get bangs, get big ones. my hair is black and the bangs r died white and red, my back is electrick green. get bangs. it helps bcuz u can either keep it curley or sraiten it with a side sweep. also, bows and headbands are cute if u want to satrt ur own trend. me, i usually do a messy bun spiked up in the back, then i put a big wihite bow next to it, and i flatten random parts of my bangs and where a headband. (for school) and if u have a strickt skool with a dress code, on weekends experiment with spray paints of all eotic collrs, so if u really want to get it died, u have an idea. i hope this helps alot and good luck with ur har. tellin u bangs r the shit, and curly emo hairstyles have to be created by the person who wears it. curly is just as hot as strait so dont worrybe experimental, do what u think is cute, and remember… have fun! well that and remember to spike it.

Kayso, I dont like labels but people call me scene and shit like that, so my hair is mega curly, and my mom is a hairdresser so im lucky. My hair was purpleish brownish but then it faded to like a brown. Its almost to my butt but not quite. Im bored with my color. BANGS ARE KEY. I have straightacross/side swept bangs. I LOVE Hayley Williams’ hair but my hair would FALL OUT if I do it like hers. But to all you curly scene wanting hairstyle people; what I do is wet my hair ( or get out of shower), wrap head in towel, do makeup, take hair out, little bit of gel all through it, blow dry it damp, ALOT of gel and HAIRSPRAY all through it, blowdry dry, straighten bangs, and then straighten the TIPS of your hair all over. Apply mouse as needed. It looks scene if you do it right. Some days I put it in low pigtails for variety, it works, as for color; get some BLEACH BLONDE in there and buy colors from Hot Topic. You’ll be fly in no time

OK….So, my hair is darkish brown and REALLY curly, Im in middle school so I can’t cut or dye my hair with out moms permish.(barf). my hair goes half way down my back when wet, and an inch shorter when dry. I cant straiten my hair cuz…i dont like to, It ruins my hair. I have light bouncy curls and my hair is more….scene…but this is what i did… naturally i have light brown hair, and curly side bangs…. i died my hair 3 shades darker to make a dark chocolate brown color. i part my hair to the side and brush out my bangs until they are straightish then add defrizz stuff plus gell and finger it through. then i dyed thetips of my hair purple/blue and put purple/blue streakes in the bangs. You said you didnt ant to straighten it but if you just do the bangs it looks good….. i also add clips!!! (hello kitty and dinosaurs are my favorite)

Well i’m a scenechick, i have wavy hair, layered and i just need to straighten it and BAM! that’s it…. but most of my emo friends have curly hair O.o
And they just straigthen it too, but one of them just throws it to the side.
i think joo juhss need to pin it up or something, try cutting it in layers, straigthening the shorter layers on the top and just leave the bottom with semi-curls.

I have curly hair, but bigger and looser. It gets frizzy in humidity. Its layered, comes to my shoulders. I wash it daily and towel dry it, while it’s still damp i add beyond the zone noodle head (it costs like $6 and can be found anywhere pretty much). Then i do a side part with side bangs. I then add a headband, or wrap a bandana around my forehead. Adding accessories to the head band is cute too! Whenever i straighten my hair its really long and looks amazing, and i don’t have to wash it for a day or two! i hope this helps.
i have curly hair too. my dad is african-american && my mom is irish. so i [naturally] have red, very curly hair. i cant stand it. i died it rlly dark brown almost black then put purple streaks in. i didnt like them so now i have bleached out strips in it but it looks good. i straighten it frequently. if i dont straighten it i wont wear it down. right now its shoulder length && i’d have to say when it was 6 inches - 4inches longer it was wayyy better. i think if yu want short emo hair yu should go all the way to the chin when its curly, otherwise when yu straighten it, it wont fall right. i cant say anything bout layers yet becuz i haven’t done anything drastic…but i am doing some short layers on top tonight. i guess the secret to scene hair is
1. never copy anyone else
2. make yer own stuff up
3. yu cant give a shite bout yer hair, yu have to expect to get some terrible experiences…&& in the end some rlly fried hair [especially if yer hair is naturally curly]

ok im not an expert on any of this or nything but i do have my hair cut in a ’scene’ style nd my hair is a little wavy i think u should get ur hair cut in the ’scene’ style u want then get side bangs u might wanna start kinda long with bangs at first uz once i cut mine i got tired of them being short after nd while nd r still waiting on them to grow back but on the other hand i might just end up cutting them short again but in a different style or if u didnt want side bangs im not sure watt there calledd but i gues its a style of side bangs one part is straighter on them nd the rest is side bngs nd they go across ur whole forehead i think they look pretty rad if u ask me if u add some crazy colors id go with red or blue or even get chunks of blonde if u wanna get more natural colors personally i think platnium or bleach blonde looks really good if u have dark brown hair

The trick is to work with your hair. I suggest you keep your layers on the longer side and get some really awsome bangs, which are easy to straighten. I like to straighten the top layer of hair & the bangs, then like the longest layer underneath layer for a bit of contrast and edge, and leave the stuff/middle layers in between curly. Use a nice serum and a lot of gel on the curly part and when the crunchiness of the gel wears off you’ll be left with pretty, frizz-free, defined curls. Try gelling that middle section & then braiding it and sleeping on it over night then applying hairspray and spray wax in the morning when you take out the braids if your hair is really poofy or thick. Play around with different techniques. Gel works really well.
I have curly dark blonde hair and i use to hate it
But i discovered 1 thing calledhair iron.
It takes like 4 hours to straight all hair and 5hours later its curly again (if u dont put 5 packs of gel)
So now i just straight my bang and use the rest of the hair curly or “disheveled”, normally with a headband (or an “Alice band”).
It helps a lot if you use gel (but not 2 much or it will look wet and hard)

If u look at pictures there will be girls with they’re hair backcombed but they leave the underneath and they’re bangs straight so thts what i did i backcombed my hair and straightened my bangs and underneath i then brang the underneath forward and added a bow to my hair and it turned out great x

Well, I’m not “emo” but I’m an ex-emo and I used to straighten my curly hair. Right now, I have long curly hair with bright red highlights underneath with an extreme side part. I also got it layered with long bangs. What I do is I let the back go curly (put mouse in it when wet and scrunch) and I only straighten the bangs. Looks pretty emo to me!
Don’t think that just because everyone who is “emo” has straight hari means you have to look the same. It’s great to embrace what you have. I personally LOVE my curls and wouldn’t trade them for any other hair, but I also like the emo style. Combining both is a great look, a lot less maintenance and more healthy for you and your hair. Enjoy!
Sweet heart, what ever the hell you do, don’t get a razor cut on your georgous curls…. It makes it frizzy and unmanagable, I kno for a fact!
hey guys, im naturally a red-head, with mega-curly hair
i wouldnt say im emo, more a scene-kid
i get my hair thinned every 6 weeks as its really thick, and have long gradual layers put through it, and a sweeping side fringe
when i wash it, i wrap it in a towel, till its damp not wet
then i side part it, and use loadsa mousse and scruch it
but nt my fringe, i let tht dry completely and straighten it, and use a bow clip to pin it out my eyes, to the side
i also get red and blonde highlights through it which look good with my hair colour
so yeah lol

oh btw, if yu gt curly hair, dnt get it razored, after a few months, it makes the end relly straight, and it sucks lol

Well, I’ve got straight hair and I curl it.
I think you should get a choppy hairstlyle and have
yer bangs longer than yer hair. Thats what I did.
It looks cool. And dye yer bangs with a color that stands out.
